Does anyone remember this steel player from Birmingham Alabama ? He used to have a music store in Birmingham also I think Opus I ?

Jim,

Yes, I know the genial Hardy Archer and his wonderful wife Helen well. They are still living outside of Birmingham and the school is still going.

I met them when I did 3 DOD tours with their son Ric, a fine guitarist, in 1986-87. We did the Far East, Europe and Central America.

Ric now plays with the Temptations. I caught up with him last year when they gigged in Providence. Ric is a wild 'n' krazy guy, and a musician to the bone. Must have got that from Hardy!

I'll send Hardy your regards via Ric. I don't believe he has e mail. But Archer Guitar Studio is in the book in Birmingham, I believe.

Nice to see his name up here.
