Hey Gary, I'm working on my second copy of your "Peaceful And Steel" CD. Wore the first one slap out. Found the first copy about a year or so ago at Wallyworld in the reduced bin and picked it up for about $4.99. Wore it out and couldn't find another. Got lucky night before last and found it at walmart again but this time I had to pay over $13.00.(Son, I guess you're comin up in the world after 20 yrs. or so, HEHE) Love your style and was wondering if you have any more Instrumental CD's available. I'd like to hear more !!!!!!!
If you guys haven't heard it, it's a great Gospel CD done with a lot of heart and Gary plays more than just steel on it !!

| Gary is a great one! A group I was with, Sons of Faith, opened for the Kingsmen one night in the late 70's. Gary let me plug into his rig. He played a blue Emmons push pull, and a Carvin amp with a 15 inch speaker. Great guy and great steel/dobro player! He sings to! |

WOW, all the nice comments, I'm beginning to think I'm something....NOT!!!
Anyway, thanks again. First, I don't price em for WalMart a distributor does. I have seen them for $5, $10, and $13...go figure! hahaha
I have a Christmas CD/Cassette out, called "Christmas with Friends". Features steel, harmonica, dobro, and 3 songs with vocals (don't worry Reggie I didn't sing on them!).
$10 for either the CD or cassette, i'll take care of shipping. Really didn't make them for the profit, just something I wanted to do. Anyway, you can write at:

| Hi Gary,and Reggie, I remember Carvin offered a steel amp in their catalog back in the 70's with a 15" speaker.What does the sound of that amp compare to what's on the market today? Also I am a lover of the Primitive Quartet,and I think Gary played on one of those. |

Gary can better answer the Carvin question.
I also like the Primitives. Standing Tall is a great group, too. I heard that steeler Eddie Trent is playing dobro for them. |

| Hey guys.. carvin is here, based in san diego and I believe the owner is a steel player? not sure though...I think I have heard that he played non pedals in the 50's. I remember they carried a steel setup in the 70's... |

I really don't know if Carvin is still in business or not. After getting an Evans, I'M NOT LOOKING. hahaha
Eddie Trent is a good friend and a GREAT steel player. He played sessions in the Kingsport, Bristol, TN area (and still is). He played with the Kingsmen back in the 60's but when the Kingsmen went full time, he didn't want to give up his policeman job.
I did play on 2-3 of The Primitive's recordings. Great people. Very particular about twining, licks, and harmonizing. Actually some of the sessions were quite tedious because they are so picky about their music. Thats ok though, I really learned and grew from the experience.
And yes Reggie, How could I forget The Old Ship of Zion. It was recorded in Chattanooga, TN about 1976 or 77. That was the FIRST time I met John Hughey. Conway played the same auditorium the night before and they stayed over at the same hotel we were staying at. I never will forget that day. He was my hero before then and still his.
