I was wondering who might be at the Namm show next week as a guest or working. I normally see Joe Wright with Sierra playing
at the booth.

Chuck,
When I'm not out schmoozing, I usually hang out at the George L booth, which is next to Sierra. My plans are for Friday and Saturday so I'll see you there. Maybe we can get Joe to pick a couple for us.

We're having our first NAMM show there- please come on by and say howdy. Booth 2142. We have a demo room where "Mabel's Boys", a sacred steel trio will be playing. DaShawn Hickman from NC is the steel player- he is young and skilled. He'll be using both the Calvin style E7 tuning and a lesser known Jewel Dominion tuning on our lap steels. I look forward to seeing you all-

My son Jason will be playing in the Carter Starter booth with Billy Phelps. Karen and I will be there one day but I don't look to draw much of a crowd over that! Now the REAL crowd drawer will be there off and on throughout the duration and he WILL draw a crowd if he wears those underwear on the wrong side of his jeans!

No tickets.....you need to be a guest/endorser of a manufacturer.

Actually the NAMM show is for music retailers so if you know one you may be able to get in. I was a retailer for many years and have attended a lot of NAMM events as member of the retail community and as an endorser of many products. What I'm saying is the large majority of attendees there are not the manufacturers but the members of the retail community who come to peruse the "latest and greatest" that the manufacturers and distributors have to offer. Yes, the general public at large is not invited but if you know someone in the retail community you may be able to get in.

I'll be working the Carter-Starter booth as well - just on Saturday and Sunday. Some of us have to keep a day job!

Look forward to seeing any of you there,

I just got a quick peek at Sage's guitars. At first glance they look a bit like what you'd get if Buck Rogers had tried to build a steel guitar out of Tinker Toys. (Mind you, that's a COMPLIMENT as far as I'm concerned...)

I just heard a few minutes worth of strums (Leave it to me to show up without either a bar or picks.) but it sounded GREAT!!! It was incredibly easy to dial in just about any kind of sound you can imagine, both easily and quickly. Very cool.

I'll hope to get a closer, longer look and listen over the weekend but I gotta say I was impressed so far. Great going, Sage!
