Muttonhead" aka Jerry Ericcson

Post by David Chockley »

I saw Jerry "Muttonhead" Ericcson play the 4th of July, and as usual his p/p Emmons and his new "toys" sounded great.
The reason I'm posting is that I want to know if anyone has any stories or "dirt" about Jerry because he isa better player than I am and I would like to use anything against him that I can!!!! Just Kidding!! Realy though if anyone wants to hear some real country in Illinois, go hear Jerry and the RoseBowl Band at the RoseBowl in Champaign Il on Fridays, Saturdays, and I think they're doing Thursdays (correct me if I'm wrong Jerry) Thanks, Dave
PS Jerry the lead player was a TAD loud and you never did do "I Just Destroyed The World" haha

Hey David, I have known Muttonhead for about 20 yrs. He played in Denver with a group called Tomothy P. and the Rural Route 3. Not only is he a great Steel player, he is also a great guitarist, and a good guy too.

Ronnie, Thanks for the reply. A friend and I did sound for Timothy P and the Rural Route 3 when they were in Illinois a few years back. Jerry is currently playing at the RoseBowl in Champaign Il on Thursday, Fri, & Sat.
PS what gig are you currently playing ? I'm going to start with a 6 piece house band next weekend and I need to practice but spend too much time on here hahaha

The only thing I can tell you anout Muttonhead is that he used to leave "messages" on my ProfexII screen at the Rose Bowl!!

I know what you are going through, he plays way better than me too! Image

Hey David, I have (IMO) one of the best gigs in Country Music. This is my 10th yr with Charley Pride. salary, 50 dates, and Pride has never owned a bus, we fly everywhere. I am truly blessed, and fortunate. Charley and Rozene have been very good to me, and my family, and I plan on staying until the end.

Thanks Dave, you're two kind which is better than being one kind. And I did play I've Just Destroyed the World, but it was I've Just Destroyed This Intro because I hadn't tuned up yet and those big button Kluson tuners got knocked around in the case and I had new strings on. Ronnie, you spent enough time in the trenches gigging in Denver, I'm so happy for you being in the gig you've got. You deserve it! I'd like to be a fly on your shoulder, watching you play and hearing Charley sing.
