Randle Currie plays steel for Brad on the road. He's seen playing his Franklin in his latest video. He's a young one!

Colin,
Although Randle Currie plays with BP on the road, Mike Johnson played on the Studio versions of his songs.
In addition, before Randle had the steel seat in the BP road show, it was Jim Heffernan.

| When I lived in Nashville, Randle was still with Brian White and when not on the road, was one of my golf buddies. He practices his you-know-what off and has incredible technique. We were both at the same fair (different stages)in Idaho last summer and was glad to see him with Brad where he gets a chance to really pick. If you get a chance to meet this 20-something year old guy; DO! He's a good guy and also very serious about his work. I hope to see him accomplish great things in the future, especially as he evolves to a master session player. - DJ - |

| I'll double/triple that thought. Taught him a few lessons when he lived in Canada until it was time for him to teach me! I look far and wide for people of his dedication and fire for the instrument and find very few. |

I don't care much for Country music in general, if you can believe that coming from a Steel player, but Brad Paisley is an exception. I like his songs and he has a great band. It probably helps that Brad is a great musician and can recognize good talent.

On Brad's recording: "I love to fish", there is some great steel work. I especially love the blues ending. Am I mistaken, or is the steeler doing his thing on the C6th neck? It sure sounds that way to these old ears.

The turn around and the ending are tabed on the forum.Tab section.I don't agree with what's posted.There is an easier way to do it.My opinion.However this will give you the idea.The song is also posted a half tone higher than the record.This is not a slam against the poster.My hat is off to all the guys that take the time and effort to try to help others by posting tab.I need to take the time to learn how to post tab myself.I also need to practice a lot more.My Best-------bb -----bb |
