We had a rehearsal this past Sunday and added five new songs to our set list rotation. Four of them have some fun steel.
1.I'm gonna Miss Her..Brad Paisley.
This has a neat, whimsical, out of the box, steel break starting out in double time over a 4/4 measure.
2.Designated Drinker...Alan Jackson
Great steel by Paul. There is a ton of steel in this song. It was fun learnin the parts.
3.Your Everything...Keith Urban
Simple, rudimentary steel.....kinda boring from my perspective, but the guys had fun with the vocal harmony parts.
4.Big City Stripper...Cory Morrow
Man was this fun. Great steel from Lloyd Maines. This song has a ton of steel.... I bought this guys CD to learn this and was really knocked out by the entire CD. This is traditional country with a TON of steel.
BTW, we have a job with this fellow Sept 28th at the Waller County Fair. Looking Forward to it.
5.When She Cries....Restless Heart.
Boring!! No Steel. I get to play chunk rythym guitar part and harmony lead though...
Well....this is our five newest add ons... What are you guys adding?

John Reese can't stop writing tunes. Lately we've been sort of ignoring his folky tunes and adding/rearranging the rockers. The best one new is called "Up Around The Bend".
Also, we've added "I Walk Downtown" from my Quasar Steel Guitar CD.

We added two Toby Keith songs:
1. You shouldn't kiss me like this
2. I wanna talk about me
Also an ol' George Strait tune:
3. The fireman
Also workin' on adding:
4. Wrapped around -- Brad paisley
5. On second thought -- Eddie rabbitt with a great Paul Franklin solo.
Some have more steel than others. My two favorite to play any time anywhere will always be "Above and Beyond" and "Look At Us" . My 2 bits worth.

I'm planning on adding these songs which people most often ask me to play:
1. Far, Far Away
2. That Thing Somewhere Else
3. More Softly
4. When You Get More Lessons
5. At The Bottom Of The River
The problem is I can't find the music to these songs anywhere, in stores or online. Could someone please help me with this? Thanks.
