I had to catch a 4:30 shuttle and missed the last set or two of the Dallas show.
As I was walking down the hall to the lobby they were rolling Al's "Guit-orchistra"(sp?) down the hall to the convention room.
Man, look at all them pedals!
Anyone see his set?

Hi Peter,
Al had some vital part of the Guitarorchestra missing, he played a Fry pan lap.
Nice meeting you, BTW

Al had some vital part of the Guitarorchestra missing, he played a Fry pan lap BRILLIANTLY. For me it was one of the major highlights of the show.

One thing about Al- you never know what he's going to do. But whther you like his playing or not, there's no denying that he is a true master of the steel guitar, and this year he showed that he can do more with a 6 string lap steel than most people can do with 20 strings and pedals.

Those who missed Al Petty's show missed an incredible demonstration on what can be done on a single 6 string guitar. His touch and tone comes close to the master ,Jerry Byrd. His knowledge of tuning steel guitars and the various tunings that can be used is astonishing. Jody.
