I just had a big meeting with the officers of the "Northern Tennessee Steel Guitar Club" about this great "Texas Meets Tennessee" Steel show last Tues.It seems as though the steel guitar "Super Jams" that the club is doing four times a year are bringing crowds so large that the capacity of the facilitys used are overflowing badly.Technically, the officers have asked me why , with all this attendence for the super jams, would I want to do another show in Nashville? The club is setting up a type of "Hall of Fame" and several other nice things that we did discuss on the forum at the previous time. I, as an officer in this great new steel club would not want to do anything to "go against" or be in compitition
with them. The only thing I would love to do in the future is to somehow do something to salute the great Texas players and the great state of Texas for prouducing so many great players in the past. I, or we, in Nashville will do this at some time in the future, I'm sure. As of right now, this great Tennessee Steel club is growing with leaps and bounds and hard to keep up with. So at the moment, I feel I should concentrate on the club activitys, being a good officer, and inviting everyone,(Texans too!)to come to our monstrous "Super Jams" in leiu of the formerly proposed show.
Any advise or opinions are more than welcomed. I would like to state here and now how much I , and all of the Nashville players have loved and appreciated the great Charlie Norris shows and great hospitality he has offered to one and all over the years. The great Texas show is a spectacular event and we thank the great "Texas Steel Guitar Club" for doing so very much for steel guitar. Charlie, we love you!
