| Just saw a documentery showing Buck owens playing stand up steel in the fifties. Anyone know about this? |

| If it's the same show I saw recently, Buck was playing a Rickenbacher Bakelite, while standing up. I wrote to him about it and he indicated he "cannot recall when that guitar got away from him but he'd sure like to have it back". You can correspond with him at his radio station in Bakersfield, California. |

I distinctly remember reading somewhere that at one time he used a tweed Bassman with a fifteen. I also remember see ing a photo of a narrow panel tweed Bassman with what looked like a single 15" speaker behind the grille cloth.

If my memory serves me right, Buck used to play lead guitar for Tommy Collins when he was starting out. Am I correct?

| You are correct, he played on a whole lot of Tommy's sessions. I believe he was on some Wanda Jackson tunes also. I don't know who else but he did a LOT of session work as a picker. |

Kevin......I filed my correspondence with Buck so it wouldn't get misplaced or lost.
NOW, I can't find it.
I did just check the internet under Buck Owens and came with his home page, Crystal Palace, etc...... Buck Owens.com

| I had a 57 D-8 Stringmaster I got from Buck it was in his studio for years. I sold it to forum member Bob Hoffnar. It was the best sounding Stringmaster I ever heard. |
