Life is change and my faithful D10 Carter is going to a new home. This is not because of any problems with the guitar. I still think it is a great guitar. I simply had three steels, a friend of mine needs a steel, and we were able to make a mutually beneficial swap. It is going to a good home Image

Carter guitars are fine, workingman guitars, that are light, smooth, and sound great. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I would like to express my thanks to the Carter organization for all of the help and friendship over the last few years. They are truly "World Class". One of the neatest things that has ever happened to me was being included in their ads that are in the convention programs. Though I no longer own a Carter, I am still there in heart and spirit and wish them only the best!

Ronnie,
I've got two D10 Emmons Legrande II steels. One is a brand new teal 8&5, while the other is a black 99 8&10. I've been using the black guitar on jobs as it has BL 710 pups.
Quite frankly, the Carter and the Teal Emmons with stock pups were darned near impossible to tell apart in regards to timbre. When presented with a "horse trading" opportunity, I actually was quite torn about letting my Carter go. It boiled down to keep a new guitar (Teal Emmons) that I already have bought a set of BL710s for, or keep a guitar that has a lttle mileage.

My friend Bill, who is the new proud owner, was probably a little tickled at my consternation over parting with "ol red"....

But as he so reasonably pointed out, it most likely will not be my last Carter Image

Ronnie, it's a shame you were not over. Bill is a really pleasant Christian picker whom I'm sure you would have enjoyed meeting. You still have a standing invitation to come over. Probably though, the only way I'll see you is if ya get sick Image My best to your family.
