I read a posting several years ago that he was battling cancer. I hope he is alright.

Ed passed away about 5 years ago, sadly. He was a good friend of mine since 1968.

I miss ED, he was a great guy and a great player. He always wanted to show me stuff on the steel and I could always call him if I had questions or just wanted to fetch about something.
He also did some nice custom leather work.

Ed was a lead guitarist originally, he played with a sort of psyche pop outfit in the 1960s, they cut some good stuff, can't recall their name right now.
Somehow he ended up with Goose Creek Symphony (a group that almost had as many line-up changes as the Flying Burrito Brothers), and then got involved in the Ronstadt crowd after Herbster and Sneaky Pete. Ed was a tasty picker, he also played on Dwight Yokam's early recordings.
I heard about Ed's passing back in 1999, not sure what year he did pass away, but sad news all the same.

If memory serves, Ed passed away in ’98. I had the great fortune to play in a number of bands with Ed in the 60s and 70s. He was a great, great guy. I’ve never met anyone who worked harder than he did. He was always trying to improve his playing. And he succeeded.
