Hi guys, I just heard a cut from the Neon Nightmare CD by Justin...Loud music and Strong Wine..JIM LOESSBERG was credited as the steeler..fine playing...also read that Justin is promoted by another hero of mine by the name of Johnny Bush...no wonder it sounded like him. Jim must be a member here..his name rings a bell.

I have had the good fortune of seeing Justin sing several times in the Fort Worth area. He is great-I go down there just to hear him whenever I get the chance. Once johnny bush was in the audience and came up and sang with him and Jim L. and Gary Carpenter were both on steel, after Johnny B took Jims place on drums!! Talk about a great evening of honky tonk, shuffle music !! And Jim L. is one of my favorite steel players. I was lucky enough to see Jim in a jazz setting in Austin once, and it was fantastic-he had trumpet, upright bass and drums with him. He was up front on every song ! Check out his instructional materials on C6th-wonderfull stuff there !!

Thanks for the nice words. As it happens, I'm not qualified to carry Tommy Dettamore's steel but I apprecite the compliments anyway.

The Justin Trevino "Loud Music and Strong Wine" album features Jimmy Day and Scott Walls on the title cut and Rick Price is on everything else besides the six tunes I played on.

Rick obviously blows me away on that album but it was still a privelege to play on Justin's record.

aint ol' Justin a piece of work?

Last summer, Justin & Ron Knuth came up to Ohio from Tx to play a show with Darrell McCall. I was fortunate to be on that job & I was thoroughly impressed with Justin & Ron !!
All were had by a large time & I look forward to repeating that experience in the future.

Justin is a very talented singer, songwriter and musician. When it comes to “Country” music, it just doesn’t get a lot better than that guy! Oh yea, he is a really NICE guy on top of that! Those of us from San Antonio are proud he makes his home here.

Now Ron Knuth is a different story!! I am just joking.

He is as good a fiddle player as you would ever want to be on a bandstand with, and also a very talented songwriter and musician. I am somewhat surprised to see that he came as far north as Ohio! I figure it was just a good excuse the get close to Wisconsin, which if I remember correctly is where the “family” is. By the way, if you have a fiddle that needs repair…he does that stuff as well. I have an ancient old fiddle I took to him in a box (It was in several pieces!!) many years ago, and he put it back into first class shape. No, I am not a fiddle player. I messed with it for about 6 months, and the decision was….”Hey B., you are an marginal steel player…you will NEVER be a fiddle player!!” Oh well, stuff happens sometimes!

Not my instrument as much as I love it.

It is nice to see some people recognize our talented players from South Texas.
