Who was that steeler that played such understated, and IMHO, 'as beautiful as it gets' steel on MERILEE RUSH[E]'S version [the original] of "Angel Of The Morning"??????????
1 guess per participant.

OK...here's a stumper: On Twitty's CD "The Conway Twitty Collection", who played dobro on Conway's version of the old Chuck Berry song, "Maybellene"? (No, it wasn't John)

I will take a guess that it was one of the guitar players from Sir Raleigh and the Coupons, "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow.

Tony,
I'm sorry that I couldn't get down this time around, but I am just swamped with work, even working on Sundays. There was just a conflict this time. Hope all went well at the meeting, and that runs, fills & licks were easily passed around.
I think Sammy Gibson was on a vacation to
PA, as he told me he probably would not be
able to get down, either. Next time, Tony.
Thanks,

One Of The Best; One who still stands tall as a role-model for all of us. Not only for
his outstanding prowess on the steel, but for his uncanny ability to face all the bad sides of life, that all of us, have had, and will continue to have, with such unabashed
candor, good-will, and a humorous, come-what-may-attitude......Bobbe Seymour.
Thank you, Bobbe. For playing such well-timed, beautifully-toned, and SUBTLEY-executed steel guitar, on such a beautiful song. I'm listening to you and Merilee as
I type this.
And as the song says, with a bit of irony and artistic interpretation: "There'll be no strings to bind your hands, not if the steel guitar can't find your heart".......
