George L Little Known Fact

This caught me by surprise in today's Nashille newspaper. I thought it was an interesting steel guitar/Peal Harbor connection, if you use George L's. Here's the link:

Is this the same George Lewis who worked for Shot Jackson at Sho-Bud for all those years?

Yep..the same George Lewis. I have known him since I was a little kid growing up in Illinois. He worked and had an interest in Sho-Bud, and used to come back to Illinois once in a while and make me drool over a new Sho Bud he always carried in the trunk of his car. George and Mona (and daughters and grandchildren) are very special folks. I salute you George!!

George sold me my single channel Sho-Bud amp in 1973 which I still have and play through to this day.I remember trading in an old beat up Twin Reverb amp just after returning to Nashville from my short employment with Roger Miller.
George was always very nice to me and I salute him.

I was at L&L Sales today for the first time in years. (Their cords never wear out, but I DO tend to leave them at various places of employment.)
Anyway, Mona told me that George was at Pearl Harbor for the anniversary, and that the kids had gone with him.
I hope he knows how much his sacrifices as a young man are appreciated today by a nation that has been shocked back to consciousness. Thanks again, George!

I have in my momentos old brochures from Sho-Bud and it was sent from and had George's name on them. That was a few days ago and it is always wonderful to talk to Mona and her daughter at the NAMM show each year and now this article makes George more dear to my heart, thanks, Gary

"My sincere thanks goes out to George and many just like him" I'll echo Bill's comment as I have an uncle who was a Marine & was shot, but was saved by an Army soldier who saw he was still alive. He lost a lung and had a wrist wound. He is in somewhat poor health today.

I thought this was common knowledge. I first learned about it 6 or 7 years ago. George is a real hero.
He makes great steel pickups too.
