I was wondering if Shot wrote this song, Hawaiian Honeymoon. It was on the "Steel Guitar and Dobro Sounds" with Buddy Emmons. Anybody know?

it is credited to shot on the lp.
however, a song by that same title was also recorded by steel guitarist cecil campbell as well as by western swing bands--the tune wranglers and hank penny. the penny and tune wranglers recordings predate shot, and i am not sure if they are the same song or not. i do know you can't believe all the composer credits you read on lp jackets.

Thanks, Mitch.
On songfile.com, Hawaiian Honeymoon does appear to be written by him but done by the Tune Wranglers, so I'm not quite sure either.

I believe,a lot of songs, which are "P.D." (public domain) can have their arrangements "shuffled around" slightly,& be claimed by you,as the writer. Anybody??

Would this song itself be public domain then, apart from the arrangement done by someone else?

I learned that off of Gary Carpenter's CD. His cites Shot Jackson/Knox Music (BMI)
