HOLLYWOOD BARNDANCE Video-6/21/47

Okay Forumites, I've forgotten who it was that originally posted the topic and have been unable to relocate it; so, here goes.....
I received my copy of Ernest Tubb and the Hollywood Barn Dance, this date from the kind folks at Down Home Music in southern, California. Thanks to whomever it was that so graciously posted the item and a source where it might be acquired. Much appreicated
My initial inquiry following the post here on the Forum was answered promptly. This is an old, old video of a black and white Class E,F or G movie, certainly not in the B class!! It tells the story, I guess, of Ernest Tubb and the Texas Troubadors.
All I really care about are the numerous shots that included JERRY BYRD playing his old Rick......when he was but a kid, completely adorned in a ten gallon western style hat and cowboy shirt. His fabulous tone and styling technique shines thro' the lousey accoustics of the movie itself. You just can't stifle the rich, full tone of a Rickenbacher when it's in the hands of the true Master of touch and tone.
He got play about 2.5 measures of (I believe it was Black Mountain Rag) when his playing gets inerrupted by some moron that was a wanna-be comedian on the show. Sad!
If you enjoy historical events and JERRY BYRD.......you won't want to miss this video.
The music is not studio quality but it is an important addition to the library or collection of any JERRY BYRD fan.
The ordering phone is: (510) 525-2129
Now, I at least have learned who Jimmy and Leon Short are.....and how Billy Byrd's style on the old ET records must have followed Jimmy Short's original contributions.
Thanx once again Forumites!
