Once again we had the privilege to be Junior's guests last night at his annual appearance at Fitzgeralds in Berwyn,Il. Having arrived early we spent the hour before the gig on the tour bus with Junior viewing some pictures of and discussing the new Guit-Steel which is almost completed-Junior played to a packed house and as always left the crowd cheering for more and chanting JUNIOR-JUNIOR-He covered many of his great songs like "Highway Patrol", "I Hung It Up","My Wife Thinks You're Dead", and my personal favorite-an extended jam out on "Freedom Machine"-I also really liked his instrumental medley of "Walk Dont Run",Secret Agent Man","Apache","Theme From the Good Bad and the Ugly","Theme from Bonanza" and the wierd thing that the aliens play at the end of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"-Although Miss Tanya Rae is not backing Junior on this tour-the boys in the band really laid it down especially Pete the drummer who gets more rhythm out of a lone snare drum than anyone I have ever heard-A great time was had by all and thanks to Junior for the T-shirt and copy of the new CD release "Mixed Bag"

Have to agree wholeheartedly, Paul. We opened for Junior at the State Theatre in Kalamazoo a month or so back and he just keeps getting better and better. I spent more than an hour talking with Pete after the show -- what a great guy and an incredible drummer. He did the drum intro and solo for 'Almost to Tulsa' and Junior did a very credible Buddy Charleton imitation. Image
