I did a quick Yahoo search for "Steel Guitar Tribute To Eric Clapton" and could only find that it was recorded by "Various Artists". That sure is a popular guy!

Damn! And I wanted to put "Layla" on my next CD. Guess I've been scooped again!

Nope, Sneaky Pete and Rusty Young already covered it on "Suite Steel" in the late '60s.
Jim, you could take a swing at "Pressed Rat and Warthog" though

Ever hear "I Am Yours" from the Layla
album? Very nice tune with some possibilities
for steel. (Could use a bridge though...)
Also "Your baby has gone down the plug-o"
from Cream ;^)

Were you going to leave out the out of tune slide playing at the end? (Oops I guess I ticked off even more Duane Allman slide fans....)
