Jimmy Culpepper?

Met a fellow here recently who told me his father played steel in the Houston, TX area during the 40s and 50s, and died in 1961. The son is not a musician and didn't seem to know a lot about his dad's playing. Do any of you older players around Houston remember Mr. Culpepper?
