What are some of the wages paid to musicians?
I.E., Ace in the Hole, Strayhorns, as compared to average Nashville acts, as compared to studio pickers in Nashville, as compared to studio pickers locally.

In general, one can never overlook the benefit of quality health insurance. That's quite often the deciding factor for me or most of my friends.

Leroy, I must of missed your post. The replies though do parallel the scene in the KC area. The monies are pretty much the same. Except in the KC area, steel players aren't in great demand. All country bands would like to have one, but splitting the money one more way is another thing. Steel players here are a nice to have, but not necessary.
Anyway, I had no attention in quitting my day job. I'm too old and tired to try music as a living. I was just curious what some acts and studios are paying their guys (or gals).
Besides, if I tried to make a living with music, I'd never recoup the costs of the divorce.
[This message was edited by Harold Bullard on 19 October 2001 at 02:07 PM.]
