Man, What a great performance on the Grand Ole Opry. Ricky was awesome, plus he was smilin' and havin' a great time. Love those white fret boards, (Hint Tommy?) This band is the best out there. I got to spend some tiome with Ricky in Austin at SXSW in Austin at the BlackCat Club and was blown away again. Ricky and Dale, Please come back to New York again soon.

My sentiments exactly. Great job Ricky! Good on-camera recognition (you knew when to smile while on-[from an old CBS tv guy and steel player] excellent steel playing (you have the Chalker influence on the front neck) great band and Dale is without a doubt one of the best!

Hey, Ricky - this was a great intro to your music. Great playing, nice tunes, and a bunch of folks who look like they're actually having fun and communicating with one another on stage. How refreshing. White fretboards were made for TV!

If it wasn`t for Dale Watson and the great band he has, that segment of the show was about to die. Great singer and band. Nice job Rickey.

What a pleasure to hear Dale Watson, and it was great to hear Ricky with him, Hey Ricky aren't you glad you got back with Dale? I really appreciate the blend of style Ricky plays with Dale. This show put me in mind of early Haggard. I must have the CD. I taped this so I can go back and enjoy this now and again. The tone was real pretty and what a beauty of a guitar. Ricky Rocks!

I got you all beat !!!! Somehow, I got the nerve to drive thru our "world famous", Friday afternoon traffic, and drove down to Opry Mills Mall, yesterday {Friday, of course}, and saw Ricky and Dale, live!!! The storm, that had been going, on and off, for hours, took a break till they got their show in. It's an outdoor gig, and the humidity, must have been 200. Nevertheless, when they kicked off the first song, you KNEW, for sure, they were from Texas. They were only using 4 pieces, but that shuffle was there, WITH BELLS ON !! I was going to catch the Record Shop show [E.T.s} but an old injury hit me, and I couldn't, damn it.
If anyone out there, has never caught their show, if they come anywhere near you, DON'T MISS IT !!!! You'll sure be glad you did. I had planned on filming it, but, aw, well, there'll be a next time, pretty soon.
The traffic on Briley Parkway, the road in front, of the Opry, was backed up, from
the Opry, to I-65. Luckily, I can use I-65, or I-40, to get to my house from Nashburg.

"Little" Buddy.

Great job Ricky!!! Pal, you made me very proud. Great playing and what a great tone you had. How could you possible have been so relaxed? Oh yeah, the white fretboards looked very nice. There sure were some good closeup shots.

Hey Ricky - Until you guys came on, Del Reeves' Johnny Cash impersonation was the show's highlight!!! Sounded and looked great!

I think those 710's made your tone a little thin....JUST KIDDING!!! Image

Ricky looked like he was having fun on the Opry. The director must have liked it too, judging from the amount of shots of Ricky and the steel.

Great job, Ricky. LOVED the western swing style harmonics on C6th - and everything else you played. You had the 'Bud smoking!
Dale Watson and you make an outstanding musical partnership.

Hope we get to see you and Dale on the tube again soon.

Great Job Ricky!
My dad called me right after the Opry and said "since you are such a Western Swing there is a band you need to check out.
He said the steel player was fantastic and I should get Dale Watson's CD.
I said I know dad ...He is Ricky Davis and he IS great.
Love the Western Swing swells. When are you going to be in Northern Ohio?
I will not miss the show if you come to Ohio.
