Rained on & Roasted!!!

Played Friday night outside on a 35 foot trailer bed and 2 hours into the gig we played "Thunder Rolls" and it started to rain cats & dogs. Everything got soaked and the gig ended. Today I drove 130 miles one way to play the New Hampshire Country Music Association picnic for free and roasted in the hot sun and broke a 3rd string playing the 2nd song.
It was still worth it!

Playin' an outdoor gig without a cover of some kind is 'bout as much fun as makin' love to a porcupine! Image

Donny,I agree..This past year I played with no cover overhead in 104 degrees,55 MPH winds, lightning storms,26 degrees, and once when there was a big tree over head,it was full of these nesting, big, black, ugly birds that seemed to have been eating something very thin and runny that day. Image

I tryed to keep smiling through it all but in addition to be difficult to do,it was also very RISKY during these conditions..Especially the BIRD DROPPINGS Image

So I quit that job!! I just had trouble enjoying those kind of conditions much.. Image

Jerry, it makes for some unique fret markers.
