x-mas song

Post by Oscar Usman »

Gentlemen,
Where would be a good place to start a collection of any christmas songs written for lap steel?

1. check out Doug Beaumier's nice arrangements in the tab section.

2. Ask if any forumites have old arrangemetns done by the Oahu company. They did many.

3. Best bet: most Xmas songs are simple diatonic melodies. you can learn an awful lot by arranging these in the tuning of your choice. Good luck!

By a copy of TablEdit - a greate value at around $50. It will import MIDI files and you can download just about any MIDI file you can think of from the Internet. Import the MIDI file and TablEdit will arrange an example of how you might play the song on dobro - or any other instrument. You can set it for different tunings too.

Additionally, I can tab out a tune or two for you. What would you like?
