Just got in the 8 str lap from Goldtone and

The pickup on the 6-string version is similar to a P-90, but a little wider.

| I would like to hear a sound sample from someone who owns one of these. If the sound is right, this would seem to be a good value. It certainly is a nice looking guitar,with what appears to be quality manufacturing. |

An 8 string lap steel guitar for less than $500. is definitly a bargain, when many similar guitars are about twice the price.
I have seen many good comments about Gold Tone lap steel guitars |

| There are both 6 and 8 string versions of Gold Tones on sale for 25% off list at McCabes in Santa Monica, CA. At least they were about a week ago when I stopped by. Both are a little shopworn (or maybe, that's how they came off the boat from China?). NFI |
