Cindy, off topic, but........will you be playing in Austin either the last weekend in January or the first weekend in February? Your web itenerary doesn't go that far yet. I'll be in Austin during that week and would like to catch a weekend performance if possible. Thanks.

Ron,

Thank you for the good service you have done for us Forumites with the Stingmaster Blender Wheel replacement wheel...

I know you have a Stringmaster Bridge Cover replacement project underway too!! Image This has got to be a lot harder to make! Image

Just wondering how this endeavor is coming along? Image

Ron

I am new to the Forum but you'all seem like a nice buch of folks.
I recently picked up a '55 Stringmaster D8.
I am looking for a bridge plate (the one with the push buttons or a replacement of some kind. The number on the first bridge plate is 00369.
Any ideas???? -dw

Hi Don, Stu,

Welcome to the best "Biggest Little Forum in the World".

I too have a "55" Stringmaster D8, push button. To clarify, what exactly is wrong with the plate? Or is it the bridge cover you are referring to?

The truth be known, this hardware is very hard to replace. You may find a part you need on E-bay, but you will have to watch it constantly.

If the part is not too bad, you may be able to find a good metal smith machinist to refurb/repair as may be needed. Let us know.....Meanwhile, welcome and stay warm. TX

Rgds,

Ron

Here is a link to a pic of it.
I took off the cover so you can see better.

Thanks for any help in locating one.

Don,

The bottom plate itself looks OK in the picture, although I see a rectangle shape for the string ends on the right. Don’t know what that is, but it looks OK.

I don't know if you took them off, but the Push Buttons, 3 screws and the pick up Blender wheel (at the brass vertical post behind the bridge) are missing from the bottom plate. The Blender wheel can be obtained from Ron Victoria on this post.

At any rate, if you haven't done so, on this forum go to ‘WANTED TO BUY’ section and place a request there. Further, keep checking ‘FOR SALE AMPS & ACCESSORIES’. Often times, you’ll find (sadly) Stringmaster guitars that are being parted out. I found a Push Button assembly mechanism as a backup for my ‘55’ Fender D8. Same with E-bay. You may find parted items there as well.

Hang in…keep trolling and networking; you’ll get what you need. I hope you can save this one!! It’s well worth the effort! TX

Rgds,

Ron
