Isn't there a way I can copy an entire page off a website to paste it onto a Powerpoint slide for a presentation I'm making?
Thanks,
Bryan |

A simple but crude way to do it is to hit the PrtSc key on your keyboard. This copies it to the clipboard then you can paste it into about anything you want by hitting Shift Insert or using the paste feature in the program you are using. The problem with this is that it copies the entire desktop so make sure you have your browser window maximized when you copy. There are programs out there that will allow you to copy the whole screen, just a rectangle or the "client window. You can probably get one for free by googling "screen capture". Hope this helps.

You highlight the area or page you want to copy to Powerpoint and then you "drag" the highlighted area to powerpoint.
It's the Microsoft "drag and drop" procedure that is used with MS Word, etc. |

When you do the paste you'll get clutter that was outside of the WWW window (such as your Windows status bar etc). Here's how to get round that :
1) do the PRT SCR
2) start up Windows PAINT (or any bitmap editor)
3) paste into Paint
4) now (within Paint) select the bit you want to keep (the WWW page) using the Paint Square-shaped selection tool
5) now do 'cut' within Paint
6) NOW go into Powerpoint and Paste, and you'll have just the WWW page
It's easier than it sounds |

I don't remember how exactly, but there is a way to copy only the active window to the clipboard using another key in combination with PrntScrn. Try Ctrl+PrntScrn or Shift+PrntScrn. Experiment!
Lou
Maybe the Alt or Windows key[This message was edited by Lou[NE] on 29 November 2006 at 04:33 PM.] |

ALT + PRNT SCRN will give you the active window without showing the task bar at the bottom of your screen. |
