Gay sites

I've tried in vain to block a site which
shows up in my E-mail. I've never opened it,
but from the subjects, I am aware of the
contents.
I have changed my email programs 3 times and
used 3 different computers, but to no avail.

I am using a version of Mozilla, which has a blocker. as of now.

The offender is WES BAYLOCK

Does anyone get this Gay crap, too. If so,
can we get rid of it?

Wes Baylock is a master mail list maker.... anyone can buy into that... the culprit is the person that is using it.

Clarence - Most email's i.e. hotmail, yahoo etc... have a security feature where you can upgrade the amount of security on your email. I too was getting a butt load of crap (no pun intended) but after upgraded it stopped all that unwanted stuff.

I was afraid I would offend a few gays, and I have. I use a myrid of blockers, but this one will keep coming through. I asked an innocent
question and received a couple of Bull***t
remarks which were uncalled for.
Jim Cohen, I will buy no more of your CD's.
The other stupid remark about E bay was put
out by a person with only time to putter around with a computer. All fingers and no brains.

Clarence,
I do apologize if I offended you. I was only teasing, just as I tease everyone. But since I don't know you, I probably should not have been so cavalier. Please accept my apologies.

I use Mailwasher Pro to filter out unwanted email, by creating custom rules and blacklists. You can read about it on my website, on my Mailwasher Pro page.

BTW: I now have some working filters for the image stocks spam that is circulating around the Internet. There is a link to the filters on the mailwasher page.

I have been on the internet for 8 years and have yet to receive anything other than "make myself bigger" stuff. I have to wonder where some of you folks are surfing. Don't you know how to dump your temp files and cookies?

Time for a reality check.
I was afraid I would offend a few gays, and I have.
No, you haven't. These guys aren't "gay". You've lost your sense of humor.
I asked an innocent question and received a couple of Bull***t remarks which were uncalled for.
See above.

One thing I've noticed about this forum, over a lot of years of membership, is that many members take themselves, and most things that come up here, SO seriously that any humor is simply out of the question.

Pity - life's so short.
[This message was edited by Dave Potter on 09 October 2006 at 05:11 PM.]

About a year ago, I had problems with email with questionable pictures, even if you don't open it. I think it was the microsoft anti-spyware program I downloaded, anyway it blocks pictures in the preview window of the email. Over next several weeks, the number of them was less and less. Now I rarely if ever get any of them. As a matter of fact, back then I would get about 30 spam emails a day. Now I only get only 3 or 4, none of which are of an explicit nature. I'm not sure if the software I downloaded had anything to do with or I just got lucky and they grew tired of sending them.

That's an uninformed comment. Spam is often just random.

I get it from (fake) banks, lotteries in far away countries, and my friends, the deposed leaders of African kingdoms. I have no connection with any of these trolls.
[This message was edited by Joey Ace on 10 October 2006 at 05:33 AM.]

Well, fortunately my CDs don't contain any of my sense of humor. It doesn't appear that you're in any mood to accept the apology I offered both here and via private email, so if I've inadvertently offended you so deeply that you can't find forgiveness, then all that's left is for me to wish you well and Godspeed. Life is too short.

Actually, Jim, you are the one that deserves an apology, I think we all know that.

This started as a discussion about blocking a certain type of spam, but has devalued into personal assaults, so I am closing the topic.

We do have an Off Topic Forum for those who wish to discuss such issues, where it is less likely to cause hurt feelings.
