On starting up my computer this morning Outlook Express would not load and gave this message. ( Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to open the message store. Your computer may be out of memory or disk is full.) Then when I close that message I get this message. ( Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not initialize. 0X800C12E . Contact MS for further assistance.)
I have tried to use SFC / SCANNOW but no help. I have 1 gig of mem and 80 gig hard drive and running XP Pro. Internet Explorer works fine. However I am using the new ver 7.0. Everything worked fine for a week and until I shut down last nite. |

You should be aware that EI 7 is in beta stage and is not guaranteed to be compatibe with all computers on which it may be installed. Beta software generally should be avoided on mission critical or sole computers. | Thanks Wiz. The mystry continues. We just had a severe thunderstorm here in Paducah KY and the power went out before I could shut the computer down. However when I turned it back on Outlook Express works. When I tried earlier to get it to work I only re-booted after making changes. Is there a method when making changes you need to turn it off and restart. This is spookey. So far the IE ver 7 works good, however the changes appear to be only cosmetic. Thanks for the help. Dan on many software updates or new installs and even when you uninstall a program, Windows needs to restart. Most programs will give you a message to restart, but some will not.
Another issue, if you are having problems with a program and decide it needs reinstalled, do not reinstall over the existing installation, uninstall the program first, then restart Windows (an important step) then reinstall the program.
Another thing I do, before I uninstall anything or install a new program or an update I always manually set a System Restore point. It helps if you run into problems. Some programs will automatically set a restore point but many will not so I just manually do it all the time. It's saved my butt many times and the System Restore has made me look like "super tech" working on other PC's.
I've tried IE7 twice and although I like the setup, it has a lot of features purposely turned off and that hinders me on some sites with forums that I visit. |

| To expand on this thread regarding Internet Explorer 7 - Beta, installing this beta version on a computer that has Firefox installed as the default browser may cause your computer to experience hangs as IE tries to open, either from links or from icons. This happened to me and I had to reinstall Windows on top of itself to fix the problem, then get all Windows Updates all over again, re-install my anit-virus and a few other programs.
