Microsoft word program problem

MS word now says that I can not open it anymore because I have exceded my lisense limitations. I bought the freakin thing years ago and even when I use the disk it does not work. I have reinstalled and all that but no worky. I'm using mac OS 10.3.9.

Also is there another less screwed up program I can use to open my MS word files ?

Bob, do you have more than one computer with this same serial number installed? I believe that's the sort of message you'd get if you tried to run Word on two machines simultaneously, as Word will look out to the local subnet and search for the serial number.

Also, which version of Word/Office do you have?

The disk is
office:mac V.x

I use it on my 2 laptops and one G4.

It seems to be working today. It looks like the only way not to have microsoft screw around is to buy or steal something. I'm going to look for an alternate program to buy that can open my old ms word files.

I think it might be some microsoft OSX glitch.

OpenOffice should be able to open your files. It's free and pretty solid. Not quite as many features as MS-Word, but has the features that 95% of people use.
