I'm using Windows XP, Outlook express... I've had this weird glitch happen twice now and am curious if anybody has a clue.
When using the mouse to click on a box to then enter text into, my whole system freezes up, no response to cntrl-alt delete. I can only reboot by turning off the power, and it then happens over and over again. First time, it was when replying to an email, so I thought it might be in Outlook, cleaned out all the caches, updated virus prot. etc. etc. and then eventually it "went away".
Second time it was when trying to post here on the forum- I just turned off the computer and it was fine the next day.
Any ideas? |

Not really a solution, but you might try installing and using Mozilla's Thunderbird for your email, and see if that helps. It seems to be less problematic than Outlook Express, and set up is almost the same.

It's not Outlook Express and using some other e-mail program won't make a difference.
Many times when the screen and PC "freezes" it's a video problem. Try updating the video card driver and see if that helps.
Let us know if the video card drivers fixes the problem.
