Microsoft is releasing Windows Updates to patch at least two critical flaws. The updates will be rolled out this coming Tuesday, December 13, 2005. These updates will require you to restart your computer (according to the bulletin I received).
As always, I advise you to set your computer to check for, download and install Windows Updates automatically. If you prefer to check manually, do so on Tuesday afternoon (it takes a while for the updates to go online).
You should read the details about the pending updates to see if they may negatively impact your computer (if you have a non-default installation or config).

It only took half a day for problems to appear with one of the security updates released on December 13. The issue only affects networked computers, under certain circumstances, and a hotfix is available from Microsoft, if needed.
Read the article titled "After you install security update 885250 (MS05-011), you may not be able to view the contents of a subfolder on a network share by using Windows XP or Windows Server 2003" at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896427
