I'm about to slit my wrists.. I recorded a 60 second recording through the computer mic to display some changes that are not very common.. I tried to upload to a free host site but I couldn't.. The size of the 60 second clip was 6.68 MB.. how could THAT be??.. I posted a 5 minute song with NO problem.. Is the entire Winamp file part of this thing???.. what am I doing wrong??.. I NEVER have an easy time posting ANY music files... help! bob

Looke like it was recorded at 16bit/44.1Khz, that would explain the big size (1 minute is roughly 10Mb). You need to convert it to mp3 at 128kbps, that would reduce it to approx 1/10th of the size.

You should be able to do it with WinAmp. If you don't work it out you can email the file to me and I'll do it for you. My email address is steinar@gregertsen.com

Steinar,, I can't seem to convert it to mp3 with the free version of Winamp.. I think I need Winamp Pro, which I'm too cheap to pay for.

I can't even email it to you because I have a limit of 5 MB on attachments, and this is almost 7 MB... I think I'm gonna go drink some Benzene... anyone have an idea how I might do this?? bob

I use MusicMatch Jukebox to convert wav's to mp3's, it's free and you can get it here.

You can also convert wavs to windows media with the windows media encoder, free from Microsoft here
