Does anybody know of any shareware or cheap software to change pitch of a song so you don't have to retune? I found Pulse Master, which is good, but $29.95 is more than I want to spend for the amount of time I'll use it. The demo only runs about a minute of the song.

The Amazing Slow Downer works really well. It will change pitch and/or speed on cd's or mp3's. Link (hopefully) below:

It is not that cheap however.

Found one. http://renegademinds.com/Default.aspx?tabid=33. Free, changes pitch, speed, seems to work. I had to download this: Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package. Will this hurt me?

I would recommend anyone needing to do general editing with audio files to seriously consider Audacity. It is a very versatile program geared towards the "pro-sumer". For you guys who want to digitize your old LP's, or remove nasty blips from downloaded mp3's. or slowing down, or speeding up or whatever.
The best thing about it is that it's an open source project, so it's free and constantly being updated with the latest goodies. |
