I have XP Pro, Pentium 4 and have recently started getting unexpected shutdowns with the message Stop c000021a {Fatal System Error} etc.,....computer shuts down and then I can fortunately reboot sucessfully.
Any ideas?

What are you doing when it happens?
Is it a certain program that causes the computer to crash?
Does it crash randomly for no reason?

There are a plethora of things that can cause a computer to crash the way you have described. Anything from a bad stick of memory to dust buildup inside the computer causing it to over heat to something as simple as a corrupt driver.

If you could narrow down what is happening right before it crashes, it would be easier to begin to diagnose your problems.

Darren, it doesn't seem I'm doing anything particular when it happens...I can't really say if there's any pattern.
It almost seems random.
Jack, I did do a Google search but I got mostly answers from subscription only web sites.
I'll look a little harder.
Edited after re-googling....
I think I answered my own question http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;156669
[This message was edited by Tony Palmer on 22 April 2005 at 11:50 AM.]
