Firefox is just another browser for the Internet. Try it, can't hurt a thing. (Just choose "No", when asked if you want it to be your default browser, and when you close it, it'll be like nothing ever happened).

People forget that a connection to the Internet is just that, a connection. It's like a electric plug in the wall, you decide what you want to plug in to it. If you want to browse the Internet, you need to use a prgram that can display the pages correctly, and provide you with an easy way to find them. Internet Explorer and Firefox are just a couple of those programs, known as "Browsers".

I wouldnt say that firefox is just another browser, its also much more secure. IE has had tons of security holes exploited in the last couple years and those of you guys using windows need all the help you can get. The only updates Microsoft has made for IE are to patch all the security holes.
Not to mention tabbed browsing, search functions built-in (google, amazon, IMDB, all music, ebay, etc..), and an endless amount of plug-ins. At this point the question should be why are you still using IE?

Yes, Firefox is definitely more secure.
I have a program called "PestPatrol" that takes care of spy- and addware, plus other 'hostile' cookies when I surf the web. After one 'session' using IE the PestPatrol log is full of cookies it has blocked, but when using Firefox the log stays empty. It obviously deals with these issues a lot better than IE.
