I've mentioned this a couple times, but saw no response, so will mentioned it again, because
I believe newer computer users should know about other alternatives to the home page.
I've subscribed to PC magazine for several years and have used this home page by one of it's writers, and computer expert John Dvorak
for my home page. Absolutely no ads and instant on. A handy way to get information, especially for students and those of us who
are way beyond games and such.
It will take the place of Internet Exployer, or any other start up screen and with no ads.
I advise every one to try it out.

My favorite page for getting information all in one place is http://www.refdesk.com/
Usually one banner at the top, but never had anything bad come from it. |

Tom; thanks for the info. It was very interesting but way too cluttered. I will
keep it as a link, tho

My home page is about:blank so that IE loads faster. |

Mozilla lets you have it both ways. You can set a home page, but have Moz start with a blank page. That way, it starts faster, but you can click on the "home" icon to go to whatever you've set.
And it's much safer than IE ...

These are very good suggestions. I use Mozilla, too. I have the "Home.htm" on either
units. Being entirely a text program, it loads instantly on either platform.
I know someone will try it. What will it cost you? Free.
