Recently I received an ad with my credit union bill. The ad is for an Internet/phone line sharing device called "Catch-A Call." The unit has 4 inputs, Wall Jack, Modem, Phone and Fax. The unit costs $59.85 plus $7.99 for S/H.

Has anyone had any experience with this phone line sharing device?

Never heard of it myself but there's more info. on it here. http://www.catch-a-call-online.com/ By the way, it sounds like your credit union is getting a nice commission on these units. They're cheaper if you buy direct.

My credit union is offering the standard model only. I didn't learn about the Gold model until I checked out the "Catch-A-Call website.

If I read it correctly, it says it only puts your internet connection on hold for maybe a few seconds, barely long enough to answer the phone and tell them you'll call them back, before it cuts off your internet connection. But, at least it does tell you when you've got an incoming call, in case you're expecting one. From what I hear, DSL is a better system (tho' of course more costly) cuz you can actually use the phone and the 'puter simultaneously.
