I just took some pic's with my new Dig. camera . and I put them on my Dest top. and they look good on my Computer but when I e-mail them they are much to large,how can I correct this problem.. I know very little about computers. thanks for the Info in advance.... Jack

Irfanview is a easy-to-use, free-download
picture editor that will let you resize images either individually or in batches.
Click > Irfanview

Most likely your camera came with some editing software. However, depending on your computer savvy, I'd recommend having someone walk you through the process "live" to minimize frustration.
Remember to always "save AS" a different name so you won't lose your hi-resolution original.
If you want to share pictures without resizing, you might try using ofoto. You upload your photos (free) to their site, where they remain on their server. They have a personalized "share" option where the viewer can see the photos at a lower resolution. They can also purchase prints (very reasonable), make comments, etc. on line. The photos NEED to be the higher resolution in case someone orders prints. They even indicate size recommendations based on the resolution of each photo. www.ofoto.com

Jack, your Camera may allow you to select the image size you want from it's menu, such as 640, 1024, 1280, and so on.....mine does and I find that is the simplest way for me.

PICTURES IN JPG FORMAT ARE EASY TO EMAIL AS THEY ARE IN KB'S PICS IN TIF OR BMP FORMAT(MUCH HIGHER RESOLUTION) ARE IN MB'S AND LOTS OF EMAIL ACCOUNTS WONT LET YOU SEND THIS LARGE A FILE
BE CAREFUL IF YOU DOWNLOAD IFRANVIEW AS IT WILL TAKE OVER LOTS OF OTHER THINGS AND WILL SET IT SELF AS THE DEFAULT PROGRAM OVER KODAK IMAGINING ETC THAT COMES WITH WINDOWS
I DIDNT CARE FOR IT AND LIKE TO NEVER GOT RID OF IT I COULDNT USE SOME OF MY PICS AS SCREEN SAVERS OR WALLPAPER ETC WITH IT, IT TOOK OVER MY MUSIC AND OTHER THINGS

Lawrence, you can set file associations in Irfanview by going to
Options>Properties>Extentions
and checking and/or unchecking the appropriate file extensions. Your Kodak Imaging surely gives you similar options.

THANKS RUSS FOR THE INFO A FRIEND PROMPTED ME TO USE IRFANVIEW BUT DIDNT CAUTION ME AS HOW TO SET IT UP AND IT WOULDNT SUPPORT THE JPG FORMAT WHICH I USE FOR A LOT OF PICS AS I AM EMAILIMG THEM I USE MY OWN 35MM PHOTOS FOR SCREEN SAVERS AND SHARE WITH FAMILY ETC
ALSO I AM NOT A COMPUTER GURU BUT I DO TRY TO PASS INFO TO OTHERS IF I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS OR FIND A SOLUTION THAT WORKS FOR ME

You can click on something in your browser's menu, probably a View menu, that will increase the text size.

The "VIEW" button IS the one you go to if you are using Internet Explorer. You should have it on the top toolbar.
Click VIEW
Your options will be
Toolbars
Status bar
Explorer Bar
Go to
Stop
Refresh
Text Size
highlight TEXT SIZE
and you'll see your size options to the right

When you get the text larger, the combination text really is much easier on the eyes! You'll SEE!

I have ben using IrfanView for several years and never had ANY problems with it. During setup you have the option of which file formats it handles, and the option is always available and easy to implement (Options, Properties). Be sure to download the all_plugins.zip file and extract it into the program files\IrfanView folder.
I watched a friend bumble around in photoshop deluxe for an hour, trying to convert an image for the cover of a CD to greyscale and adjust the brightness and contrast for a useable image. I could have done it in under a minute with IView.

Larry: If you have a mouse with the wheel on it, put the cursor over the text, and you can hold the control key down and roll the mouse wheel to shrink or enlarge the text. Works on most web pages.
