Joe--Not quite sure what you mean by "spread all over" but if you *are* asking about a folder's display properties, here are the basics.

RIGHT-click within an ACTIVE folder to get the 'context' menu. (Or, at the top of the Explorer window, LEFT-click the 'View' tool) Among the menu choices are 2 of interest here, 'View' and 'Arrange Icons'. With the 'view' you can select the FORMAT and with the 'arrange' you specify the SEQUENCE. The 'arrange' tool also has an 'Auto' function that tells Windows to put the icons in orderly rows and columns in a sequence of the system's choosing.

There are other, more advanced, control functions with which you can specify how close or how far away one icon is to be relative to others.

If this is not the kind of thing about which you are asking, repost with more specifics. --Everett

Everette
I done all that and re-booted several times.
The icons WERE not lined up properly. There were gaps here and there and the icons were out of line to the rows and columns. Just like they were dropped on the screen, so to speak.

However, when I booted up this morning everything is back to normal.

Thanks for the advice.
