Hey y'all,

A friend of mine has burned some cdr's, that contain data, using Roxio Platinum. When he burned them, he did not "close" (finalize) the sessions. Now, for whatever reason, he cannot access the cd's, even through the program that burned them. I had always thought that you could put the discs back in and at least finalize them, or access the data, but he is not having luck. Does anyone have any insight into this? Many thanks in advance!

My experience with this is limited but I recently bagan using Roxio Platinum.

The burn speed might have been too fast. Try slowing it down and see if the problem persists. I had this problem with my first attempt, however,I don't recall if I tried to access the bad disc with Roxio; my steroes and Media Player had issues with it.

Also, I've only recorded and immediately finalized in the same session.

Somewhere in the Roxio program there is a fix CD and/or finalise CD tab, that will close/finalise the CD so it can be used...
This feature is used when you want to record different tracks from different CDs onto a single CD.
