From time to time I will get an email message
that will not completely download.I may only get 50% or less. It varies. In any event you can not read the whole message of course.
Is it my my server or the senders?
Can anyone shed some light please?
Thanks,
Roy T.

Roy,
What is your email client? Outlook? Outlook Express?
Also, are there any attachments on these emails? If so, are the attachments large?
A lot of ISP's will set a limit on email messages that can be sent or received. Usually it is 2MB.
Let me know.
Mark

Thanks Mark.
I use Newscape Communicator. Local service
is MPowered Sympatico.
When the problem occurs there is usually no
attachment. It happened to-day. There was no
bar on the right hand side of the message so it was impossible to scroll and get past the second paragraph. All other messages to-day were OK.
As stated before it happens just once in a while. |

You might try digging through your email setup and enabling "leave mail on server" for a while. This will allow you to try to download it again in case your connection is bad or your ISP is having problems.
Once you get the emails you want, disable the above and check your mail again. This will remove those emails from the server. Go back and enable it again to be ready for the next batch of email. |

Here's a tip when using Netscape mail, and the whole message doesn't download. Usually, the whole message is there...but you can't scroll down far enough to read it. A simple work-around is to let the message download as much as possible, then hit "Reply to Sender". From your reply page, you'll be able to read the entire message, as well as print it if you like! This also works to "compress" a message that's set for too wide a page (where you have to scroll back and forth to read the whole message). When you hit "Reply to Sender", the whole message will be reformatted, and you'll only have to scroll up and down...not back and forth. |
