I run MS Internet Explorer 5.0 and Corel PhotoHouse 2.0

I have downloaded some animated .gif files from www.animfactory.com. When I try to open them with Internet Explorer, it causes them to automatically open in PhotoHouse, but they are not animated, they just sit there.

Can someone explain what I can do to open them with Internet Explorer? It seems that all .gif files want to open in Corel whether I want them to or not.

Thanks,

Mel

Mel-- Hold down a SHIFT key while you RIGHT click the name of the .gif file you wish to open. That should bring up a 'context' menu with an 'open with' option. LEFT click the 'open with' which should then bring up another window with a list of file types. Scroll down to the IE icon and double click it. That tells Windows to open the file with your browser. Or, if you have some other animation enabled program, look for it in the list and use it.

If you wish, put a 'check' in the 'always use' box to permanently associate the file type and program. --Everett
