When I try to print the pictures they are being clipped and I do not get the full view of my picture. I am sure it is some simple matter for most of you. Any Help is appreciated.

Louis;
The pictures may be too wide for your printer. Either re-size them to fit or print them as a landscape, (horizontally rather than vertically.)

A couple of things you can try - copy the photo into MS Word. That way you can see exactly how it will fit on a printed page.

Get VuePrintPro from http://www.hamrick.com It's a wonderful viewer that I have been using for years. Best shareware I have ever purchased.

You can print and resize the images as you need. It also recognizes virtually every known image format and can convert between any of them.

Thanks,Ernie and John for your replies.

John,I think your solution will work for me,even though I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

My problem was as Ernie said,the picture on my screen was too large to go on the printed page.

Amen to what John G. said about VuePrint. I have used it for a long time and am well satisfied.

Louie,

Sometimes the dimensions of the jpeg pictures are different from the printer paper size that you are using. For instance, my digital camera takes pictures in a 1536 X 2048 pixel format. If you ratio it out ((8.5 x 2048)/1536=11.33), that translates to 8-1/2 X 11-1/3 inches, so part of the long dimension is cut off if I use 8-1/2 X 11 paper to print. Many jpeg pictures are like this, so you may be losing some of the picture that way. The way to solve this, and other sizing issues, is to resize the jpeg using photo editing software, however if you get all the long dimension in, then the other side may be too short on the paper and you will have to trim some.

If you have a good high quality jpeg, you can put it on a floppy and take it to Wal-Mart. They have the Kodak kiosks that will print very good 8 X 10s for ~ $6.50. These machines will resize the print automatically for you. I usually take my keeper pictures there instead of printing them on my inkjet. The Kodak pictures use a dye sublimation process that is very finely detailed and color permanent. Ink jets will sometimes fade badly over the years.

Too bad I read this after I got back from Ronnie’s. I could have brought you some good photo editing software.
