| When ebay asks you to type in the name of the file for the picture of what you want to sell, what would be an example of how a jpeg would be spelled? I have the picture in my A Drive to use, but can't spell the file name correctly. The box already has the prefix "http://", but what would come after that? Thanks for any help. You can't have the picture on your PC, unless it is on line all the time and acting as a server (e.g. the forum system).
You have to have the picture on another server that can be accessed, just like posting a picture on the forum.
If your ISP provides space for a personal home page, you can upload it to your home page and then link the picture to that. There are services available (some for a fee and some for free) that will host your picture. |

Mark,
eBay has picture hosting included in their service. In your preferences, choose to use eBay's hosting, then you will be able to click on one of the picture boxes in the 'place your ad' page and browse to the file on your PC. You should copy the jpg to your hard drive from the floppy first. Then the file will be uploaded to eBay's server and it will given its own unique uniform resource locater (url) where the eBay page will access and display the file.

| Thanks Jack and Mike. I noticed there was an area that you could insert a picture through the process that Mike was talking about, but in this particular area where I put something up for bid (an EQ/amp for a car), I didn't see any place for picture hosting and had to go to an outside source. I pretty much understand now. |

| Mark, if you go to tripod.com or freeyellow.com you can get a free website of 50mb where you upload and store your photos. It is really simple once you get on to it. I've been using tripod.com for about three years. But I started using freeyellow.com last year also because tripod wouldn't allow my photos to open up on the forum. I think tripod is an AOL site. LH |

Happened to me too with Geocities. I uploaded hundreds of jpegs and gifs and then one day the links stopped working. They no longer let you link to an image in your Geocities file manager. You have to create a page on your site and link to the page displaying the photos and their stinking pop-ups.
And I still really hate that guy banging his head on his desk!
