AOL Launching

I know... AOL...go ahead and say it.
Anyway lately when working in various programs,AOL launches the sign on window with no prompt.
Very frustrating, and very random.
It is version 5.
I am probably ready to reinstall it to see if that cures it. I thought if I installed Ver.6 that might fix it, but some people at work have 6 and some still have the problem.
Anyway I have it pulled out of the start-up menu.
AOl didn't seem to offer much more advice than that.
Anyone else had this problem?
