Goodrich makes a SteelDriver to fit on a
guitar leg to equalize or compress the
sound between the volume pedal and the
amp Is that what it is?

The Steel Driver by Goodrich has 2 paths thru it- the normal side includes going thru their impedence matching transformer ala Little Izzy, Match Box, etc.- and includes a tone control which is handy in that it is available on the leg of the guitar. The other path takes the signal thru a distortion loop and is useful for rock and roll, string sections, etc.

What Jim said - simply a buffer on one side, and a fuzz/distortion on the other.

I've never tried that particular one, but the Steeldriver II is very useful.

Jon Jaffe, That looks just like it. Are they any better than say a Boss Blues driver?
Thanks, Gary.

I like it. I use it all the time. It is different than the Blues Driver. First it is an impedance matcher, like the Hilton Digital Sustain. Second it has two different distortion modes, both with tone control. Battery life is very long.
