I am in the want for a small tube amp, which will be used for my Strat (surf music), and as a second amp for my Williams (stereo). I read the lap steel posts, and they liked both the Fender Blues Jr and Peavey ValveKing. But which one will sound better with the PSG? The first amp is a Peavey NV112, then go through the Profex II or another Fx box for stereo. I really like the Blues Jr, played through one at the local music store (not GC).

The Valve King seems to me to be the amp that satisfies both needs~

I think the Valve King is a lot better for PSG. It's a really nice sounding amp at a great price.

A nice feature on the ValveKing is the "texture" knob in the rear. Full on it keeps the amp clean and clear, dial it back toward "Class A" power and you can add a little grit for standard guitar, (in addition it is a two channel amp that has a gain setting on one channel). I play through a Valveking 100W head and two BW 15" cabs for larger gigs and really like the versatility.
