Glenn :
Good reply on the weak battery in your volume pedal--I forgot all about that, but it did happen to me also. The other thing to check is your FUSE -- make sure it is not coroded or damaged. Radio Shack has fuses for your Webb. Phillip.

I took my Webb 6 14-E to my local Peavey service center for a all around service here in sunny downtown Winter Haven Florida. Did a great job. Carlton Music Center 863-294-4216 is there # and ask for the service Dept.

Good Luck

Any competent amp tech should be able to service your Webb, as they're pretty straightforward. Your distortion problem is very likely caused by the EQ in/out toggle switch, a very common problem with that amp. You can try "working" the switch a number of times and see if it affects the problem. If it does, the switch needs replacing, as the contacts are oxidized or pitted. Even if working the switch clears it up for awhile, the problem will likely come back unless it's replaced.

Also, ( thou I don't know how old your amp is,) check that "reverb" connection to the chasis. Go ahead and do that "plugging in, plugging out" type of working in.

All that shorting switch like input jacks and speaker jacks, are good place to clean up.
