It works very well. There is a little break up when you try to reduce the speed by 50% but for what it does, its great.

I bought this unit and promptly returned it. I thought the sound quality of both the slowed down track and the guitar signal was lousy. The fact that it didn't come with a power supply (either have to use batteries or buy the power cable separately) was unacceptbale to me.

It's possible I received a bad unit, since others seem to like it. This, however, was my experience.

I've been slowing down tracks using Audacity software (which is a free download that I learned about here on the Forum) and that seems to be better.

I have a Guitar Trainer, and I think it's great. I like the mkII as well. Yes, there is breakup at -50%, but I think that is to be expected with anything that alters the speed of a CD.

I also downloaded Audacity, and couldn't make it do ANYTHING. Maybe the system you like the best has more to do with user-friendliness than anything else.
