I own 2 Peavey Classic 30 tube amps which are nice tweedy sounding affordable 30 watt combo amps. It isn't a Fender tho' , and although it sounds nice and warm the treble gets piercing as opposed to chimey if turned up. Steve Ahola at blueguitar.org has had several mods for this amp on the web for quite a while . Most are for changes to the overdrive and boost circuits which I don't use . One sounded interesting and I was curious if any one had tried this modification to their Peavey tube amp ? Following are Steve's suggestions-
I also recommend Fenderizing the input, removing the caps using just a 33K series Resistor and a 1M Resistor to ground.
